What's On My Reading List for 2021?

I have the lofty goal to read 26 books in 2021 (or a book every other week). Although I do not have my complete reading list planned out for all of 2021, I know what I plan to read in the beginning of the year! Here are 6 books that I am very excited about reading in 2021. ⬇️

6 Books You NEED to Read in 2021

what's on my reading list for 2021?

#1 Big Magic

Big Magic is for anyone seeking out a creative life. The author shares her unique perspective on how creativity, nature, and inspiration work together. (Get the book)

#2 Where the Crawdad's Sing

The story is set in the 1950s and revolves around a young woman who is from extremely rural North Carolina. Known by others as the Marsh Girl, she lives alone in nature—but the draw of other people, and specifically love, brings her into contact with the greater world. This novel has a mystery at its core, but it can be read on a variety of levels. (Get the book)

#3 Dry

The drought—or the Tap-Out, as everyone calls it—has been going on for a while now. Everyone’s lives have become an endless list of don’ts: don’t water the lawn, don’t fill up your pool, don’t take long showers.

Until the taps run dry.

Suddenly, Alyssa’s quiet suburban street spirals into a warzone of desperation; neighbors and families turned against each other on the hunt for water. And when her parents don’t return and her life—and the life of her brother—is threatened, Alyssa has to make impossible choices if she’s going to survive. (Get the book)

#4 The Complete Stories of Flannery O'Connor

Flannery O'Conner's writing is best-known for her explorations of religious themes and southern racial issues, and for combining the comic with the tragic. This book is a collection of all of her writings. (Get the book)

#5 The Kite Runner

The unforgettable, heartbreaking story of the unlikely friendship between a wealthy boy and the son of his father’s servant, caught in the tragic sweep of history, The Kite Runner transports readers to Afghanistan at a tense and crucial moment of change and destruction. A powerful story of friendship, it is also about the power of reading, the price of betrayal, and the possibility of redemption; and an exploration of the power of fathers over sons—their love, their sacrifices, their lies. #6 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think

In her second compilation of published writing, Brianna Wiest explores pursuing purpose over passion, embracing negative thinking, seeing the wisdom in daily routine, and becoming aware of the cognitive biases that are creating the way you see your life. This book contains never before seen pieces as well as some of Brianna's most popular essays, all of which just might leave you thinking: this idea changed my life. (Get the book)
